Bloooms introduces a new product, which is bound to enhance the comfort level of people who spend much time working behind a desk. This desk has a heated top, therefore a person working at his or her desk will not get cold. Actually, the room heating can be turned down a few degrees. Research by the Dutch research institute TNO shows that contact heating through the wrists is the most efficient way to warm the body. It is even assumed that a heated desk can help prevent RSI.

The idea isn't new, but its execution is!

The heated desk is a total concept. The heating elements are integrated into the table top. This is possible, because Bloooms exclusively works with bamboo, which is eminently suitable to apply heating. It's a stable material, that conserves its shape and properties when heated.

Personal preferences

The heating can be individually adjusted, and is therefore excellently suited to be used in spaces where there are several people at work. One person might be feeling cold, the other would prefer to open a window; a well-known phenomenon in office buildings.

This will be solved with the heated desk, because everyone is able to customize their individual heating to their needs.

Energy efficient and sustainable

As the heating is powered by weak current, it is completely safe, and moreover, its energy consumption is low. A sensor triggers the heating the moment someone sits down at the desk, and turns it off when no one is sitting at the desk.

It has been scientifically proven, that if the undersides of the wrists are warm, the whole body will be warm. By working at a desk/work table at a computer, for example, using the mouse, or writing, the wrists are placed on the work top.

When the surface is heated (no radiation heat), the wrists will become warm as well.
Its effect is enhanced work comfort, and as a result, content employees.
And one may can turn down the heater 1 to 4 degrees C° (source: TNO).

TNO conducted a research study into efficient local heating, and they concur with the fact that heating your desktop is an efficient way of heating.
Additional calculations show that in all situations this form of local heating produces a significant reduction in energy consumption, in most cases, more than justifying the investment needed.
